The Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (DDW) is a small municipal airport located in Destin, Florida. It is the only commercial airport in the City of Destin and serves as a reliever airport for Jacksonville International Airport. The airport had 2,542 aircraft operations and averaged 2,844 passengers per day. The airport has two runways: 5/23 is 6,000 ft long and 3/21 is 4,000 ft long.

The Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport was first established in 1929 as an auxiliary field to the then-larger Fort Walton Beach Naval Air Station. The facility was known as Gulf Coast Army Airfield and was operated by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II as a training airfield for pilots destined for combat in Europe. In 1948, the airfield was transferred to civilian control and became known as Gulf Coast Municipal Airport. On May 1, 1987, both Gulf Coast Municipal Airport and Fort Walton Beach Naval Air Station were merged into the City of Destin and renamed Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.

Today, the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is a vital reliever airport for Jacksonville International Airport. The airport serves as a stopover for flights connecting passengers from all over North America to popular destinations in Florida such as Tampa, Orlando and Naples. In addition to its primary function as a reliever airport for Jacksonville International Airport, DDW also offers charter services and general aviation services including helicopter operations.

Pensacola Regional Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Florida and serves the Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach areas. It offers flights to Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville. There is also a shuttle service to Escambia County Airport. The airport has a single terminal building and a car rental facility.
